    Eric is back at the TCA convention, and this time he gets a chance to talk to Steve Russell, Chairman and CEO of Celadon Group. With the rocky economic climate out there, Steve talks about what can be done to make sure that your trucking company can stay afloat until things start to turn around. Then he gets to chat with Tom Kretsinger, CEO of American Central Transport about CSA 2010, and how it's going to impact the transportation industry.

  • The TCA Convention

    Originally aired March 9, 2010

    Eric had a chance to talk to both the incoming and the outgoing chairmen of the Truckload Carriers Association. From electronic logs to in upcoming hours of service legislation, there are a lot of issues that are going to have some big impacts on the transportation industry in the next few months. Then Eric has the change to talk to Gary Salisbury of Fikes Truck Line about the new TCA's Open Deck Division, which specializes in flatbed trucking issues.

  • Speed Cameras Are Coming

    While they've been in use in a few spots around the country, speed cameras are soon going to cover most paved roads in California. Eric and Gary talk about how this will affect roads throughout the country, and then get a chance to talk to some drivers about how they have changed their driving.

  • FMCSA Driver Listening Sessions

    The FMCSA is holding a series of talks with drivers all around the country where they will go over new hours of service rules and regulations. Eric and Gary open up the phones to talk to drivers about mandatory breaks during the day and other changes coming around the bend.

  • New Rules and Regulations

    Originally aired January 7, 2010

    It's a new year and so there's a whole new batch of legislation coming down the pipe. Eric and Gary talk about the new Electronic On-Board Recorder legislation and what it means to you as a driver. Then they go on to talk about a trucker that was last seen near Butte, MT around Christmas, and hasn't been seen since.

  • Getting Mexican Trucks Back on US Highways

    Originally aired July 28, 2009

    Back in March, the US Legislator passed a bill that took Mexican trucks off US roads, despite the fact that it goes against NAFTA. In response Mexico passed large tariffs on US-made goods. Gary talks about what's being done to get Mexican trucks back on the road, and to get the Mexican government to cut the restrictive tariffs. Then he gives a round-up of a few studies about everything from texting to the economy.

  • Talking to Dick McCorkle

    Dick McCorkle from the Slice of Life program comes on the show again to talk about how it is to drive the new Freightliner Cascadia. From the quiet cab and spacious sleeper to the DD15 engine powering everything, Dick tells Eric and Gary all of the highs and lows of the new truck.

  • Electronic On-Board Recorders

    Originally aired June 30, 2009

    If the current legislation becomes law, it would require a rule that would mandate that all trucks have on-board recorder within four years. Eric and Gary discuss what the new law would mean for the trucking industry, and what can be done to keep the bill from making it into law. Then the guys discuss new fuel charges, and new emissions restrictions.

  • Truck Govenors

    The ATA is pushing for governors to be put on all trucks made after 1992 that would keep them below 65 mph. While the ATA claims that truck speed is the primary cause of trucking fatalities, Eric and Gary talk about what should be actually done to fix the situation. Then they get a few drivers to call in and throw in their two cents.
